Knowing the importance of keeping the right association, the great American entrepreneur, Andrew Carnegie made an amazing tombstone request. He wanted the inscription to read “Here lies a man who knew how to enlist in his service better men than himself.”
2. Read Books
A lot of worries and headaches are cured in a pharmacy called libraries. Its books are usually filled with sound knowledge, wisdom and strategic life keys. Therefore, investing in books is a very good way to get smarter as you navigate through life with ease.
3. Learn something new
From musical instruments to a new language, learning something new provides lots of key benefits and advantages. They range from entrepreneurial opportunities to professional and career development. Also learning something new challenges and improves the brain.
4. Manage Time
Learn to cut off frivolities and prioritize your daily activities. Your mind like your body needs rest so it’s not about piling up many things daily rather, unclutter your itinerary. The best way to manage your time is by doing things that make you most productive even if they’re the most difficult. This is one way international students get smarter.
5. Exercise Regularly
Apart from improving the condition of the heart, regular exercise is also beneficial to the brain. It ensures an adequate supply of blood and oxygen and also fosters mental stimulation and relaxation.
6. Practice Meditation
Set aside some time to meditate daily. This may not be altogether easy at first but with continuous practice, you’ll get the hang of it. Choose a location with little or no noise and distractions to meditate even if it’s just for 5 minutes. Your mental alertness and concentration will be greatly sharpened through this simple exercise.

A healthy and balanced diet is of great importance to the body. The best kinds of food for the brain are fatty foods. This means healthy fats such as is obtained from fish, eggs, nuts, cheese and olive oil. Fruits and vegetables are also good for the brain.
8. Play (Smart) Games
Certain games help to improve your cognitive abilities and boost your intelligence quotient (IQ). They also improve problem-solving skills and aid critical and logical thinking. Playing games like Scrabble or Chess makes people more intelligent.
9. Be Empathetic
Empathy is about putting yourself in other people’s shoes. It is about understanding people’s unique differences, personalities, mentalities and emotions and respecting same. It is very important to connect with people socially and emotionally and not only at the level of intellect.
